Tim Anselmi’s career in the maritime industry began in 1979. He started working as an ordinary seaman onboard an offshore towing vessel immediately after graduating high school.
After working his way up the ranks, he received his 200 ton Master of Uninspected Towing Vessels in 1984, an Unlimited Tankerman ticket in 1985, and upgraded his license to a 1600 ton Master of Towing in 1992.
Having more than 20 years' experience on offshore towing vessels, Tim has operated a variety of towing vessels of various sizes and horsepower from the Northern and Southern Gulf of Mexico to San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Atlantic Coast. His towing experience includes towing material and tank barges, offshore anchor handling, operating ship docking tugs, towing offshore semi-submersible and jack-up drilling rigs.
In 1999, Tim began marine surveying for a New Orleans based firm.
In May 2005, he established Central Maritime, L.L.C. in Lockport, LA.
Tim is a Certified Marine Surveyor with the National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS), an Accredited Marine Surveyor with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS), and a candidate member with the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). In addition to surveying and being an active member in the various associations mentioned above, Tim has been qualified as an expert in a number of federal and state courts, testifying in many areas, including vessel damages, marine liability, and marine violations.

Anthony J. Anselmi began his maritime career at 18 years old while attending Nicholls State University, working for an oilfield contactor company at multiple shore side oilfield service facilities between Galliano and Port Fourchon, LA. Anthony began marine surveying in 2005 as an apprentice under Tim Anselmi, principle Marine Surveyor at Central Maritime, LLC. Anthony holds a Bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University and is an Associate Member with the National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS), and in process of completing full certified marine surveyor membership with NAMS. Anthony is also pursuing membership with the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), having completed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course and ME 201 Machinery Valuation course.
